With the 2007-2008 Competitive Team Registration Fee ($200), you'll receive:
Not to mention, the excitement of being a part of Canada's oldest (loving) improv competition, The Canadian Improv Games!
If you would like to register more than one team from your school, they will be considered a Non-Competitive Team. What's that, you ask? Well...
The rules of the Canadian Improv Games specify that schools may only enter teams with a maximum of eight players. But, what happens if you have more students who wish to participate? What about if your students just aren't ready to compete at our Regional tournament? Or both? We have an answer for you.
Many schools have two teams: a competitive team that competes at the Regional Tournament in Kingston and a non-competitive team that does not. Non-competitive teams are often used to foster new talent, or involve students who would like to learn improv but are not yet prepared to compete. Schools that are new to the KIG often get off the ground by first registering a non-competitive team to test the water. If you're a first year team, or have more than eight students interested in being a part of improv, this may be something you'd like to consider.
The registration fee for a non-competitive team is $100. With this fee your team will receive a three hour training session (valued at $75) as well as participation at our Winter Workshop session AND exhibition play, as well as free passes to every night of play at our Regional Tournament in February. If you have any questions about non-competitive teams, please contact our regional directors!
