Every year Kingston Improv offers a special event that caters to all teams, all skill levels and all living and undead! Yes, that's right the "Nights and Day of the Living Dead Winter Workshops" series is back by popular demand (and the creepy zombie theme has not been abandoned).
Free with registration, this weekend extravaganza provides a few rounds of exhibition play, as well as workshops to help your team learn the skills they need to be successful improvisers. The exhibition play will begin November 30th, 2007. Teams will perform CIG and non-CIG style events for their adoring fans! It's an opportunity to try out new ideas, gain stage experience and receive feedback during our adjudication session with one of our capable trainers. Then, the morning of December 1st the workshop session will begin. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Make sure your team gets there early, as sign-up for workshops are on a first come, first served basis. Please be considerate to other teams when signing up. K.I.G. recommends splitting your team members up to attend workshops, so that you can experience as much as possible. Students can then bring back the skills and knowledge they have acquired to share with the rest of their team. What a system!
Each workshop will run for just over an hour and teams will be on their own for lunch (12:30 - 1:30 p.m.) & dinner (4:00 - 6:00 p.m.). Call for those students playing in exhibition rounds will be 6 p.m. and play begins at 7 p.m. (both nights). Afterwards, the team will be adjudicated to find out what skills they should work on before Regionals.
You will receive a Winter Workshop package (usually via email) that will include directions to the venue, which workshops are available and who is running them. Please inform your students of the Workshop and Exhibition dates A.S.A.P! We know how busy high school students are and we like to give them ample time to plan for this event. But wait: there's more! The workshops aren't just for the kids! We also offer programming for the coaches; including team building exercises, how to troubleshoot problems on your team as well as an in depth explanation of the events and different ways of approaching them. We expect all coaches to attend these workshops - and don't worry - coffee and donuts are on us!!

Facing you at the end of the lane (before the turn right) is Theological Hall.
